Seeking a hungry-to-learn human to help cook the foods for other humans

Hello, human! ahem I mean… Well, hi there! We’re Slackers Brewing Co., a local brewpub in Northwest Austin. We’ve been brewing beer, pouring coffee, serving pretzels, tots, sandos, and pizzas, and just having a dang good time since 2021. We’re locally owned, radically inclusive (a.k.a. family friendly AND LGBTQ+ accepting!) And we’re totally and completely not weird or from outer space… seriously 😉

Position: Part-Time Kitchen Crew 

Hours: Part-time, 10–15 hours per week – Evening shift 

Experience: No experience? No problem. We will train you! This is a great first job or summer gig for someone eager to learn and grow. If you show up, work hard, and keep a good attitude, we’ll teach you everything else.

Responsibilities:

• Help prepare and cook menu items to Slackers’ standards (we’ll show you what those are)
• Keep your station clean and organized
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
• Communicate with bar staff to coordinate food orders
• Keep the vibes chill and the cheese melted

Requirements: 

• No experience required — just a willingness to learn 
• Food handlers certification required (or willing to obtain — it’s easier than you think!) 
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for long periods 
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic 
• Ability to take direction, ask questions, and be a team player

Pay: Hourly + tip pool
